Tampa Man Suspected Of Killing Dad, Attacking Mom, Sister

TAMPA | Hillsborough deputies arrested a 21-year-old man they say fatally stabbed his father and attacked his mother and sister.

According to authorities, James Kenneth McElroy stabbed his three relatives Wednesday morning at the family’s Tampa home. McElroy fled and was arrested Wednesday night. He is being held without bail at the Hillsborough County Jail.

His father, 49-year-old James McElroy, died. His 53-year-old mother, Karen, and 18-year-old sister Michelle are in the hospital in critical condition.

Neighbors said the family squabbled often, but detectives haven’t released a motive for the attacks.
