Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.

VPK??

My child will be 4 this July. I work south of Bartow, my husband works west of Bartow and we just don't know anything about the school system in Bartow. Unfortunately, or jobs take us out of the community where we live. I am considering Resurrection private school in Lakeland, but would certainly need a family to begin a car pool with if my daughter went there. Any ideas?

I think the best approach to take is identify some centers convenient for you and ask them for a tour. Not all VPK providers are equal that's for sure!

I know some people who've had their kids at Resurrection and they have been very happy with it - I don't think however that they offer VPK - so you would be subject to their tuition fees for PreK 4.

I think that may help you out with VPK info. There is a link on that page for 2010-2011 providers -- I would assume most of them would still be providers this next school year too.
