Polk Moms

Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.

I wanted to add this for your food tasting consideration.  I took the kids last year and we left so satisfied and full.  Oh my goodness, it was so wonderful, we actually went back the next day for 2 days in a row of eating.  Yum!

We will certainly make an appearance this year, too!  It really is easy to get there using the Polk Parkway for those that don't live close by.

Have you ever been?

Here's the press release that was emailed to me this morning:

Wow, this sounds good. Was it super crowded...long lines for food?

Well, like I admitted before, I went two days.  :)  On one day it was a bit more crowded but on another not as bad.  I think I would time it for what would be typical "off" hours for eating, saying 2ish, 3ish?  It's not lunch time, but it's not dinner time either.   But really, the lines were never terrible at all and the food was worth the wait.

Oh, I want to go!  I keep meaning to attend (and by "keep meaning to" I mean "have only realized it occurred after it was over" for around fifteen years), and this year I want to do it!

This truly is a "live to eat" moment.  So, so, so good.   I'm happy I posted this so you can throw it on your calendar.  Maybe I'll see you there. :)

Oh, and MandyJay, they have a lot of entertainment and dancing that I think you would like!

Well, it's on my phone's calendar and it's the weekend of my older son's 14th birthday so here's hoping my brain doesn't fail me! :D

Thank you so much for mentioning this!  Baklava... *drool*

That's funny. Last year it was on Ethan's 16th birthday and he said he wouldn't want to spend it any other way.  His b-day is Feb. 26th.

Michael's is the 24th.  Lovely children, those February babies!

My dreadful children don't want to go.  I may have to force one to attend in spite of himself.  Shawn, are you going to head over?  Maybe I can abandon my kids and we could share a ride, LOL

I'm seriously tempted to take up your offer. Now that I'm a weekend warrior rehabbing my house, I was planning on cheating of sorts. My oldest drives now and I was going to send him to pick up some big orders to bring back to me and the younger two while we are working. It's been my experience the vendors will gladly pack to-go bags. I hate to miss the festivities that go with the food but I really have to get some big uninteruppted time blocks in at the house to get us moved in.

Understood!  No worries -- I'm figuring I should wait until next year to go.  I still have the last 6-7 pounds of pound cake uhm,.. Christmas weight to scrape off, LOL.  I figure if I'm not a complete crazy woman next holiday season (Must! Eat! All! The! Food!!!) then I can reward myself with the Greek Festival in 2014 :D
