Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.

Any info on Country Lane Child Enrichment Center, North Lakeland

I am considering putting my daughter at this facility but am looking for some feedback from other mothers in the community because I don't know anyone personally who has a child there. I've not been able to find out much information online and although the school has been around for many years I cannot find any reviews on it. There are several things I like about the school and my daughter loves dancing and music so I'm excited that I can incorporate dance into her schedule there. However, because I don't have any personal ties to this place I am really looking for opinions of other mother's who may have had their children attend.

Hi, Erica: My daughter attends Country Lane after school and also takes dance classes there. It's an excellent school and I would highly recommend it. I have always felt like she was very safe and cared for there, and the kids have lots of fun. Several of my neighbors sent their kids to preschool there, also, and they couldn't say enough good things about it when I checked around before enrolling Abby.

My son attended Country Lane for Preschool. We had a good experience there and now he attends the afterschool program. My daughters who are 21 and 20 also attended for preschool. The owner is the same as it was with them. Ms. Nancy was also there when my girls attended and is still there. There is not a great turn over in staff, since we have been ther for 1.5 years 1 afternoon teacher has changed because she went away to college.

The learning they do is very very hands on. They have centers for play and a great playground. I also enjoy all the activities like the fall festival and Christmas program.

My son attended The Florida Souther College program his 3 year old year and we were highly dissapointed. They did mostly coloring and worksheets and very little hands on and not much outside time. I was sad I wasted a year of him being there instead of taking him to Country Lane but I thought the student teachers would make the FSC program much better than it was.

Ms. Kim has a good understanding of normal kid behavior and is very flexible.

Go to visit and watch after the break is over and see what you think. A friend we made there had the complaint that the toys are old. To me they bring back memories and they still work the same!

My son also does Boys Team (Dance/Gym activity) with Ms. Cindy and she is great!
