Breastfeeding Just Might Be Overrated, Study Finds

If you ever felt a little beat-up in your choice not to breastfeed, you might feel a little bit of vindication after reading the results of the above study.

From the above link:

The research, out of Ohio State University, found that when siblings raised in the same family were fed differently—one breastfed, the other not—the long-term health results were virtually the same.

It would be interesting to know if any funding for this study came from formula companies.

Indeed -- I'm curious.  I've seen the study touted many places, and yet it's just ONE study, whereas the many studies that support the benefits of breastfeeding are ignored in toto.

That said, if it's true I think that's great because breastfeeding is truly a learned art (I was on the slow part of that learning curve, LOL) and removing any lingering guilt over formula feeding for an already stressed-out new mother is a positive.

But yeah, I'm kind of looking at this with a jaundiced eye.  It'd be lovely if it's accurate, but I'm not holding my breath.

Funding came from the Eunice Kennedy Foundation not formula companies
