I've been considering chatting this topic for awhile now for several reasons.
First I saw Gwyneth Paltrow come out with her need to shave her "lady garden" specifically to wear a premiere gown to a red carpet event. I suppose it's safe to assume she doesn't maintain the shave if she needed to shave.
Then I read about Cameron Diaz's book that pens thoughts on being pro-pubic hair.
And then I was affronted by pictures all over the web a couple of days ago of mannequins with "gardens" modeling sheer underwear for a major clothing company. Did you see these American Apparel mannequins?
It looks like someone at Today.com had my same grouping of thoughts and came up with this story:
So, yes, all those things had me scratching my head. Why the backlash?
I really like to be hairless for several reasons. Zippers and hair are no fun. Packing your bikini and forgetting your razor is no fun. And let's face it, it's more sanitary and clean, particularly when a woman is having her period.
Considering my pro hair free stance, I do see some cons. I do hate contortioning in the shower. Razor bumps and ingrown hairs are painful and not cute. Taking a large block of time to shave is highly inconvenient.
For me the pros outweigh the cons, but I did get sick of shaving. I recently made the choice to go to Ideal Image to have the Brazilian laser hair removal.
I do plan on coming back to you all after I'm done with my treatments to give you my review. I've only been twice and it takes multiple treatments for completion.
No matter the trend that could be leaning towards bringing pubic hair back in style, I don't think I will ever regret my decision.
What do you all think about this topic, is it TMI to discuss? Have you considered permanent hair removal? Do you only shave for certain occasions like going to the beach?
