Polk Moms

Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.

Since the weather isn't so bad and my joints are not that stiff it's time to get out there.  I am going to get outside and start piling up the junk outside for the park manager to pick up next week.  He asked me today about it.  Got a couple chairs that the plastic webbing on it to sit on dry rotted.  I would try to fix them, but after several years they still there and just going to toss them.  I usually can find a close match to them at Target for about $20 each. The little table is still good.  After hubby is up and off to work later I can get between the shed and house and collect that junk.  Once he picks all that up next week then I can mow.

I want to do more things outside this summer.  I meant to head to Big Lots to get some of those Topsy Turvey things to hang up.  I got the plant stand my grandma had outside that you put in the ground and hang a couple plants on.  I got to fix the steps both front and back too.

Will be getting into the shed shortly too and clean it out.  Would like to have a yard sale if possible, but we'll see.  I do have a bunch of real crystal drinking, wine and champagne glasses that I have no use for.  Got some toys and stuff in here that my son doesn't play with and also outgrew.  Not including all the crap in the laundry room.  Like to thin it all out as much as possible.

Well time to get started doing things inside and then head out doors for a bit to clean.

It is getting much hotter out there.  Had to come take a break and grab a bite to eat.  Only had toast this morning so now it's a bologna & cheese on Pumpernickel bread.  Could go for a nice deli sandwich from NY but not going to get that here in FL.

I am going to talk to hubby about getting the hitch cut off the front rather than trying to cover it up with a homemade flower box.  Would have to measure it all out, see if Lowe's or Home Depot can cut my wood to size (probably pay extra for that), and then get the dirt and plants.  I think it;s cheaper just to see if I can get it cut off.  Of course I will have to get someone with a torch to cut through the metal, but it's probably cheaper than the alternative.  Plus I can buy 2 little bushes or plants to cover up the two holes (6"x2" each).  I do believe the managers son has torches.

Still got a bunch more to pile out there after.  May have to do it in 2 loads.  Did not realize all the crap under the steps.  Bad enough I got to fix them or go buy 2 new/used fiberglass steps.  We'll see though.  I am just to pooped to think anymore.  I'll just jot things down on paper as they hit me and then make sense of it all later.

Got the stuff between the shed and the house about done before the rain came in.  Got a bunch of small pieces of wood that I can rake up and bag up later on.  Tomorrow I will clean under the steps.  It felt good to see all that piled up to go.  May need to open up some of the skirting to gran stuff that is under the house too.  Then again I could do that another time.

Talked with hubby a bit about the hitch on here and will talk more tomorrow.  I say go ahead and cut it off.  I do need to borrow a ladder and fix a piece of the carport before it comes off and hits the car in a storm.  Held on with 2 rusty screws.

Once that is done and picked up outside then I'll move onto things in here.  Will work at getting papers shredded/burned.  I got so much to be destroyed.  Will concentrate in the kitchen.  With summer storms I need to put my candles in reach.  Then onto the laundry room to dig out.  Got a bunch of things I don't need in there.  So many ideas, so little time.  LOL

Still waiting on the park manager to pick the junk up.  Called last week and left a message for him.  Seems the park owners hired a Management Agency.  Guess the park manager that was here got demoted to grounds keeper because I see him more mowing the empty lots and fields.  He always gave that job to his son.

Finally got through to the park office (disconnected the answering machine and has new hours).  The guy said he'll pass the message onto Ron when he sees him cause he had no idea of the pick up.  Told him with hubby's job hours I need this picked up by the end of the day Saturday or it'll have to be picked up 6pm or later Sunday to Thursday.

Guess as I clean in here, I will toss anything big in the pile too.  Don't really have furniture that needs to go though.  Will be cleaning here in a bit too since hubby is heading out soon.  Gave him a gift certificate for a massage and he's going today.

Gone!!!  Thank goodness!!!  Now I can get back there and mow this weekend.  With all this rain I got more weeds shooting up since I mowed a few days ago.
