Does anyone know how to comment on an article without signing in through FB or Yahoo, etc? I can no longer comment after articles without signing in somewhere. I would rather not have my comments on FB. I would rather just comment on the Ledger. I guess there's a way to comment and then hide the comments...but I am not sure.

From my understanding, you can make a comment under the article and either check the box or not check the box that makes your comments post to FB also

I don't know for sure if it still shows up on your activity or not.  And boy, I checked out the activity section of my FB the other day and it seemed to list everything I've done almost to the point of how often I change underwear.

For some reason today, it didn't give me a choice to check a box or not for adding comments on Facebook. I remember it used to give me that option.

Instead of a plain "add comments" button to enter my comments it had "Add comments using the following" and when you click on it, a drop down menu comes up, and you have to choose Facebook, Yahoo, AOL, etc.

Weird....not sure why it changed but I don't like it!!

You could always create a ficticious FB account or an e-mail address you use for nothing other than posts, however some of your data (ISP and web address) would still be accessable to the IT department, law enforcement, etc. I am not sure why, since it is your first amendment right to free speach, you would want to hide your identity. Most of what I see is childish comments on articles written. In another words, a huge percentage of what is posted is rather personal attacks as opposed to a personal opinion, it seems like a lot of wasted energy reminiscent of high school drama :-)

I like to keep my FB pretty private. I don't post on there a lot. I do like to comment on Ledger articles sometimes though, and I would like to do so without all my friends and family seeing what I am saying...does that make sense?

In other words, I am not worried about "big brother" or whoever keeping tabs so much -just liked to keep things separate from FB. I have this one relative who can't let me post anything without contradicting me and it drives me up the wall.

Jmarr,

Would you like me to post comments on your behalf?

THEY BETTER BE GOOD !!!!!

.

Agreed.   Who has time for that?   :)

I seem to be able to comment again. It was just that article that was giving me a problem, or maybe it was just that day..or both.
