Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.

According to this parenting piece it's likely only 5 % of moms-to-be actually deliver when they think they will.  Even with such a small number, there must be some of us that delivered at our due dates?

It's even more likely that you didn't deliver on your due date.  If you fall into that category how far off were you?  Were you early?  Late?  Did your due date change and shift while expecting?

With my first, my OB actually did move up my due date from March 3 to Leap Day (Feb. 29th).  In the end I delivered on Feb. 26th.

With my 2nd guy, my due date maintained, although my OB was guessing that I would go over my July 4th due date because I wasn't showing any signs of dilation and the baby was still high.  Despite that, my water broke on June 26th and I had my boy early, on June 27th (today is his birthday!).

With my last pregnancy I was scheduled for a c-section, my due date was July 12th and my little girl was born on June 30th.

Giving you all these updates, you can surmise I did not have any of my children on my due dates, they all came early.

Funny enough, my mother swears I was born on the very day her doctor gave her as my due date.

Please add your feedback, this could be very helpful for new moms-to-be to gauge what's typical, being on time, late, or early in deliveries.

My mom said I was born on due date, my brother was one day early.
My son was 42 days late. My due date was Feb17th, and my son was born on March 21.
Funny how a birthing experience can tell you so much about your child.
From this I learned he was going to be a Momma's Boy, He never wants to leave my side, When he is READY to DO something, he does it with a BANG!!! But until he is ready, don't hold your breath on getting him to do it.  :)

All of my babies were induced 2-3 weeks early due to medical complications.  They were all big babies (except for my daughter) so I am glad they did not go to term.

I recently found out that I am expecting again (oops) and two weeks ago got an even bigger surprise---it's twins.  I am hoping that I do not go until my due date (Jan 15) with them : )  Hoping I can convince my OB to induce early since I have been told with twins they rarely make it to 40 weeks.

Oh!My!Goodness!  Congratulations!  My mouth just dropped from excitement with a squeal thrown in.  Twins!  Wow, how does that even feel, to not have just one coming, but two?  Lol.  I wish you the best of luck in this journey and hope to see a lot of updates.  Stay rested as best as you can. :)

Oh my goodness, I'm so happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!!  And twins?  What a blessing!  Congrats to you and your whole family, MM :)  I'll keep y'all in my thoughts and prayers.

Regarding my own pregnancies, my boys were 11 and 12 days late respectively.  My younger son didn't get the memo that second children are supposed to come more quickly than the first.

Come to think of it, the child's pretty much ignored the entire handbook since birth!

My baby girl was just 30 minutes short of joining us on her Due Date....close!

I think I would have delivered my daughter on her due date if my blood pressure wasn't so high.  She was due 12/24 and I had her 12/22 via induction.  I was having some contractions prior to the induction but nothing consistent.  I am glad though that I had her a few days early because I didn't want to be in the hospital on Christmas.  We came on Christmas morning.

Coming home is a great Christmas present.  :)  I'm glad it worked out for you.

That's crazy close, lol!

My first was born on her due date with a few hrs to spare and my 2nd was born 1 day after his due date.  My 3rd was born about 2-2 1/2 weeks prior to her due date.

CONGRATULATIONS MONSTERMOM!!!!! :D How very exciting!!!

I've had 5 kids - not a one on his due date. Some a bit early, most a bit late...

Thanks everyone.  We are cautiously excited.  We lost our last son two years ago at 37 weeks (cord accident).  Since then, after a few miscarriages, we had given up on ever getting pregnant again.  However, God has given us a double blessing.  Just very worried about another loss and the high risk complications of twins.  Fortunately, the twins look like they are fraternal (80% chance) since they each have their own placenta and own amniotic sac.  The ultrasound tech told me, if I had to have twins, that this scenario was the least risky.

I remember, and I think about you and your little one.  I'm glad you're looking at the least-risky twin scenario.
