We are planning a trip to Epcot for one day of our vacation. Since Dean isnt walking yet - this is more for David and I, and we are hoping he will get some enjoyment out of it. Ive never been to Epcot....any tips or tricks? Best place to eat? Cheapest "adult" beverages? I heard from one person to eat in Mexico and order a kids burrito because its huge? Is there anything there that is a must see or a dont even bother?

Cheaper places to eat... fish & chips in England pavilion, near Rose & Crown restaurant, bread & cheese plate in Norway pavilion, Cafe San Angel across from Mexico pavilion, food court in The Land pavilion.
The World Showcase is an excellent place for adults to visit, with travelogue movies in France, Canada and China, and great shopping in every "country." Make sure to wander through the nooks and crannies in England, Morocco, Canada, and Japan.
There are great drink options in every pavilion, but as with all things Disney not too cheap. Our favorite is the beer in Germany.
Definitely ride Soarin' in the Land pavilion but get a Fast Pass first thing when you get in the park. It's very popular and on a busy day may be out of FastPasses for the whole day by early afternoon, and then a 60-70 minute standby wait.
Have Fun! I do touring itineraries if you want one. email craig@fpclakeland.org. I'm a pastor in town and a disney nut.
If you don't have the pass with parking included, there may be a way around paying the parking fees. It is now $14 to park! I used to go to the Yacht Club hotel parking lot and tell them that I was eating at one of the restaurants in there. It isn't a far walk from there to get into Epcot.
I'll second Craig's recommendation on Soarin'. And double-recommend on the Fast Pass, because that line gets really long, really fast. He's really accurate in everything he said, actually. Everywhere to eat and drink is Disney priced. There are some meal plans that might work within your budget. I didn't use any because we didn't go with the boys, but I'd check out the official Disney website and have a look at what there is to offer.

My absolute favorite place to eat is the Coral Reef Restaurant. The entire front of the dining room stares out on this enormous saltwater aquarium, containing rays, sharks, giant grouper -- it's amazing.

I also love the ride through The Land, which is the attraction that also houses Soarin' -- it's a boat ride through all sorts of amazing different agricultural growth environments.

Clearly, I am another Disney nut, and Epcot is my favorite park. In fact, it's so bad that my husband and I went to Disney for our honeymoon, and more than half that time was spent at Epcot. The World Showcase is fantastic, and the shopping -- even if it's just of the window variety-- just can't be beat.

Any questions, just holler. And enjoy :)
Yep...another recommendation for Soarin'...and follow the previously mentioned advice. Norway and Mexico both have boat type rides you can take the little man on, and Figment is in Imagination. If Dean is into lights and sound, definitely ride that. At the end you can take a picture and email it from their computers, "conduct" an orchestra and jump on light/sound thingys on the ground. Outside there are "jumping water" fountains. Hayley likes to try to catch the giant drops.

E is correct about the Coca-cola fountain area. It is at the back right of the giant fountain between the Innoventions buildings and showcases Coke products from around the world. Some are....interesting! LOL Don't be afraid to child swap. I think it was easier to do that with a little one than it is with Hayley now. She has finally hit 40+ inches, though, so we can ride a lot more things!

It is the Flower and Garden festival, so there may be a play area and there will be great topiaries to take pictures of.

There is a little cafe in France that my mom and I "found" for the first time at the Food and Wine festival last fall. They have sandwiches and pastries that are not too expensive as well. I think Norway has a little cafe-type place too.

Whatever you do, have fun! and give us the scoop on the "after" end!
Thanks everyone! I am so excited - I knew this was the place to come and ask. I think Dean will love the Nemo & the fountain thing. Dave will love the sodas, lol.

Thats a good tip about the stroller - I didnt even take that into consideration. I was just going to use the infant carrier with the snap and go, but am thinking thats probably not the best idea? I wonder if someone would take it?

I think I am going to need to eat in every country, lol. Looks like Disney needs to go towards the end of vacation so I dont have to get in a swimsuit after! hahaha
Thanks for asking the question RWallace. We are going one day during Spring Break and this info will definitely help. Thanks everyone!
It really is annoying because you come out and think someone's nabbed your stroller lol! Last time we bought balloons and tied them to each of our strollers - then we knew what to look for.

Your stroller should be fine. They have attendents who actually park the strollers and keep them organized. So beware. If you park it in one place, it may be moved by the time you get out because of the stroller person that moves them and keeps them "organized". LOL, i'd be lying if I say that it didn't annoy me, but I understand why they do it. If you cant find it, just ask one of them and they can usually point you to it or they will help you find it. Try and leave something to mark it if its a "typical" stroller. Like leaving a colorful shirt on top or attatching a bag that doesn't have important belongings in it strapped to the stroller. It helps you identify it faster.

Stay for the fireworks. They have the BEST ones out of all the parks!
We actually had a umbrella stroller mix up at Disney the last time we went. I had to run down another couple that already walked off with our stroller. Lol, we would have gotten the better deal because ours was much more in 'wear and tear' shape, their's was sparkly clean. Sentimentally though, I was glad to get ours back. I'm such a nut about adding sentimental value to the oddest things. That stroller hiked Mayan ruins in Mexico and I wanted it back. :D

So I agree, tie a red bandanna or something on it to easily identify your stroller. I actually do this with my luggage when I fly too. I wrap red tape to the handle so I know that it's my luggage and a quick identify. :)

As far as eating, the last time I went to Epcot, we "picked" at or grazed a little everywhere. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food we had. When in country theme, I was happy to see the food (most of the time) was not your average theme park fare.

Oh, this is a good thread, thanks for starting it, it sure makes me want to go for a revisit. :)
