Do you think this dance routine is too risque for little girls?

You may have seen this on the news already, was wondering what your thoughts are on this routine. Comments are blowing up all over the net about it, in just a short time.

Young Girls Do Beyonce's 'Single Ladies' (Video)

I know many of us have little girls in dance classes with recitals coming up.  Have you ever watched a local recital where you felt girls were dancing and dressed more provocative that what you personally felt was age inappropriate?

Do you feel like this routine is pretty much the norm for competitive dance?

I did see this earlier today and was shocked. I have thought of it many times today and I can't wrap my mind around how anyone thought at this dance studio that this was in any way appropriate for 7 year olds!

I just now showed it to my husband - he walked away after viewing it for literally 2 seconds - he couldn't watch it.

I can see that those kids are talented dancers - but I am totally scratching my head at any parent who was comfortable with their 7 year old daughter dressed like that and dancing like that. It's very sad.

And, it's on Youtube so how many pervs do you think are accessing that footage right now?

Sad :-(

There is no way on this earth I'd let my daughter participate in that.
Do you think this dance routine is too risque for little girls? Yes, Thats my story and I'm sticking to it!

Do you feel like this routine is pretty much the norm for competitive dance? Sadly Yes!
OMG, yes this is inappropriate for little girls!!! I would not want to see my 28 year old daughter doing this much less a 7 year old. Who in their right mind put together for these little babies? This is like watching child porn to me.

These girls (hopefully) don't know what they are doing and what it implies, but I am positive that the pedifiles out there do.
The routine is a tad risque. The costumes are over the top. If the girls had been dressed in more age appropriate clothing, the routine would have been less shocking. It is sad that young girls are becoming more and more sexually aware at an increasingly younger age, and it is obvious that the parents of these girls have not acknowledged the dangers of allowing their children to become sex symbols.
I think what makes this inappropriate ( and I am so strict on my girls-- that I make them wear shorts under EVERY dress or skirt), is the clothes ( if the tops were a little longer & shorts a little longer) & that one move near the end where the little blonde gets in front & does like a hip roll down her body BUT with her legs wide open ( I about fell over, over that move). I don't mind the grinding the air or the popping around as those moves are in nearly any dance routine. And what makes this even worse is now it is plastered around the net & sick sick people will now look at this sexually. Which I think will do more harm then what the person reported this was hoping for.
if u want ur child 2 beat the best in competition they had better bring their A game
GREAT JOB TO THE COACH OF THE GIRLS GOOoooo COACH and girls
I don't think many would doubt these kids' talent - that much is obvious. But, from my perspective, the routine is just inappropriate for a 7 year old and I can't believe for a second that there isn't a more age appropriate, less salacious way of showcasing that talent.

If this is what competitive dance has to offer, I would be very comfortable giving it nothing but the widest of berths.

I would never, never let my daughter wear a costume like that or dance like that at age 7. I do not think it is appropriate at all. The costumes were horrible.
Seriously? Their "A game" is to simulate sex acts? Are you kidding me?

First and foremost I AM SO GLAD I HAVE A SON! OMG! I cannot imagine what a mom or dad of a young girl goes through. I personally was shocked when I watched this, they sure don't look like 7 yr olds. However, Those young girls were so happy doing their dance routine, if you watch their faces they truly are adorable and thrilled with the audiences response. Are they talented? I don't know how much talent it takes to hip grind and booty shake, I think some other moves could have been chosen. But to do it as a group and actually look good, there’s got to be some talent there, somewhere. It’s a great song to dance to, yes. I do not think it was age appropriate if the girls were 7 years of age. But what age would be appropriate? 10-12-16? Once again I am so glad I have a son!
I bet that if u would have never seen the outfits most would not mind this dance. I have a son so I dont have to worry about this but my niece is 7 and her and I dance around the house like that and she drops and pops and all that when we are dancing and it doesnt look nasty or wrong. Its just dancing. And I know there are soooo many pervs around "LOVING" this routine but its no different than cheerleading now adays!! Thats just my opinion. They are kids having fun and are VERY TALENTED! A new outfit covering a little more and it would have been an A+++++ performance!!
A better choice in outfits certainly would have been a step in the right direction. But there are still some seriously questionable moves in this routine... these little girls are doing things that I imagine strippers also do. And that is not cool in this mom of 2 girls book!
