Eating Fish During Pregnancy Just Got Even More Complicated

Eating Fish During Pregnancy Just Got Even More Complicated

Isn't it?

Eat it.  Don't eat it.  Eat it.  Don't eat it.

The above link is very helpful as it follows studies that suggest fish consumption is importantly wonderful to your unborn child, but, it is certain fish you should consume and others are best left until after delivery day.

Do you increase fish intake while expecting?  Do you decrease certain varieties while pregnant?>

I just want you all to know that mercury is still  - at least - in the flu shots.

From official CDC website:

Do the 2012-2013 seasonal flu vaccines contain thimerosal?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved several formulations of the seasonal flu vaccine, including multi-dose vials and single-dose units. (See Table of Approved Influenza Vaccines for the U.S. 2012–2013 Season.) Since seasonal influenza vaccine is produced in large quantities for annual immunization campaigns, some of the vaccine is produced in multi-dose vials, and contains thimerosal to safeguard against possible contamination of the vial once it is opened.

I stayed away from larger fish like Tuna, as they tend to have more mercury. I think some swordfish and tilefish are supposed to be high in mercury too. I would sometimes ask in the restaurant if it was a larger fish, if I was unsure....they thought I was crazy!

For some reason, when I was expecting I never really had a taste for fish.  Odd, really, because I apparently had a taste for everything else... LOL
