Well this is the first EEG that Jesse had the last 7 yrs that showed no seizure activity.  I was shocked to hear "normal".  It did not even show any residual activity if he had one earlier.  So made the appointment to follow up in 6 months and meantime I'll be getting a call from Arnold Palmer Hospital to get a 24 hour EEG study done.  Now I'm not counting my chickens before they are hatched though.  I know there can still be seizures but just not show any at that time.

Once the 24 hour study one is done we'll go from there as to what we want to do.  It could be the seizure meds are finally at a dosage to hold them back or he could have outgrew them.  So if there are still none on the test then we can try to decrease the seizure meds and if we do most likely go for another EEG (not a 24 hour) to see if they are gone or back again.

The only reason we have to get it done through the hospital is because of insurance.  Last time he was at APH for over night was 12 yrs ago when he was born.  At least we can stay with him I do believe.  There is no way I can leave him even if they suggested the Ronald House.  We'll see though when the time comes.

What good news!!! :D I'm very happy for you and Jesse! When was his last seizure? Hopefully he's outgrowing them and he can wean off meds!

I pray for the day we have a normal EEG... Good luck with the 24 hour one!

Thanks!!  I haven't noticed really any seizure activity as he plays alot in his room.  I am hoping he did outgrow them, but no going to hold my breath.

Went to the ENT this morning and we go back in 1 year unless we need to come in sooner.  He's only on the Claratin for seasonal allergies.  He was on Nasonex but I took him off.  He had runny nose a bit before it and it did not help him at all.  He had a worse runny nose, sore throat and ear aches from it.  Common side effects.

Already went to the dentist for his cleaning last week and did great.  No cavities.  Next month it's the eye doctor before school starts.

I was just curious, I've always heard 2 years seizure free as a guideline for outgrowing (and a normal EEG)

I used to renew his medic alert bracelet every year, hoping he'd outgrow it before the next renewal. Last month I finally went to the 3 yr plan...maybe now he'll outgrow :) I haven't seen a seizure since Oct, he started new meds in Nov and hasn't had one since.

I'll have to look into the Alicia, thanks.  I often thought before of a bracelet, but never did get one done.  Would still be good to get one custom done for the PVL & APD.

Got his 24 hr EEG set for Sept 10th.  That was the first available week at hubby's job to take a vacation.  Since we only have 1 car and getting it done at Arnold Palmer I can't split the car in half.  He's not thrilled he's got be held up in the hospital room without his game systems. LOL  We'll bring his lap top so he can get online and play games.  Got to gather up some dvd's to bring since they have a player in the room.  Going to be a fun one.
