Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.
I am looking into Essure for permanent birth control. My BF and I decided we are complete with our family.
I was just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it, has it. He is worried about the side effects as am I; but when you have been on every type of birth control its at the low end of worries for me. I went on their website and got information (see attached). The good thing is until its confirmed to have taken, I can leave my implanon in. I also would like to hear back from my insurance to see what the out of pocket costs are on it.

In the end I backed out, I'd read quite of quite a few complications and it scared me off. I couldn't find anyone I knew with first hand experience with it. I ended up going with a traditional tubal.
Just to throw it out there, not that my husband ever went for it obviously, but a vasectomy is much less invasive than any of the permanent procedures for women...
Yea, he wants to do that but right now he doesn't have health insurance.
I had the procedure done about a year ago. The actual procedure was a piece of cake, and was not too painful. I have had no serious side effects, and am overall happy with the procedure.
If you would like to email me, I would be glad to give your more specific information!
So I had this procedure at the beginning of November. The procedure itself wasn't too bad, the meds had me in/out all day after it was over though. I had light bleeding/spotting most of the month and cramping at the end of the month. I already scheduled my confirmation test for February.
I am glad it went well for you!
