Polk Moms

Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.

Have any of you been following this story out of Texas?   Although not local, it can certainly make us ask ourselves, "What would I do?" .

I would ask you another question as well.   What do you think should happen to dad?   Some feel he should be indicted for murder.   Should dad be punished for this crime?

Good for the father in protecting his daughter!

I do not feel that the charges will stick at all. If has a good attorney he should get off. I pray that nothing ever happens to my child, because I can not say for certain that I would not do the same.

He was protecting his daughter- no I do not feel like he should face murder charges. We have let countless baby killers free because of technicalities so I would PRAY that this man not be charged for doing something that protected his daughter. IF he is charged- I give up all hope in our justice system.

They could press charges and that would be horrible for the father to have to go through and to pay for. I would be amazed if there's a jury in this country that would convict him!

Good for him, that's all I can come up with. He's stated that he didn't realize he hit him enough to kill him, a blinded by rage or temporary insanity plea may work if it came to it. He defended his daughter. I have absolutely no problem with that. I'd have done the same thing.
My heart breaks for this family. That poor child and father have to live with this awful incident. I pray he isn't charged or if he is the charge is laughed right out of court.

I can honestly say I would do the same. I can only imagine the blind rage seeing another human hurt your child would cause.

Murder charges? NO

As said before, I cannot see a jury convicting this man of anything, sadly if he is charged it will cost him alot of money for a foolish reason.

I cannot say what I would do, too incriminating. But I feel he did no wrong.

Here's another question, if he hadn't killed this man, what would have happened to him? Be let free? We all just witnessed the arrests for the undercover sting they just had for the cyber crimes on children, these men are out on bond and walking free. What does it take to keep a person like this in jail is my question? They keep doing it time and time again and walk, I cannot stomach a person that has the nerve to hurt a child.

Here's a perfect example.

He may have killed him by accident, or uncontrollable rage, but I'm just happy he's not back on the streets to do more harm to other children.

No charges for Texas father who killed daughter's alleged molester

I'm very pleased with this outcome, especially reading more details from this case that can be found at the above link.  This family has already been through enough to suffer anymore.

I am glad that this father was not charged.  It would have been ridiculous to charge him for protecting his child.  I have two daughters and I know I will DO ANYTHING to make sure they are not hurt in ANY way!!!

As if the story couldn't get worse - the additional details come out. :(  I read one account the man's pants were down and his genitals exposed - in the linked story here it says he was raping the child when dad came in. Either way - God forgive me, I'm glad he killed him.  That plus the dad freaking out on the phone to 911 WORRIED the man was going to die! I just want to give him a hug and assure him, you did the right thing.

I don't think he should be convicted of murder charges. Did he kill a guy? yes, BUT a four year old can not defend themselves against a grown man. Therefore the father was using self defense in order to help his daughter. He has enough to deal with seeing his daughter being raped. I have a little boy and i cant say if i saw this happening to him i would not do the same.
