Have you tried the Taqueria Truck on Bartow Road?  I haven't ventured to pull over yet but will admit I've been tempted.  I have heard great things about the food served on this mobile unit.

It seems Trent Rowe did recently.  See how he rated the food at the link, Flock to the Taqueria Truck On Bartow Road

I will be honest. I have been there once, and will NOT return. It was highly recommended by my Dad, who told me that the taco's are GREAT for $1 only. So, I tried them. All we got was taco's, and I was NOT Impressed at all. They were disgusting. Maybe the other stuff they have is good, but I was not impressed at all with the tacos. JMO
I will def recommend it. I always go there I love their Tacos!!!!
I have to make a trip to the Ledger office in Lakeland today. I just may have to swing in to taste. :)

Jessica, have you tried it more than once? I wonder if you caught them on a bad day? I really have heard a lot of good things about them.

If I stop, I'll let you ladies know what I think. :)
OH MY + WOW = AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Trent says, 'Flock', I say Run! Get there and taste these. Those were the BEST tacos I've ever eaten!

I should background a couple of things.

1. I have never been a big taco fan. When I eat Mexican style cuisine I opt for other options. It took 34 years and now I can say I love tacos.

2. I've had far reaching authentic Mexican food. I've been to Mexico and Texas. Lucky me I found the best tacos right here in driving distance to my house.

3. I love the pairing of cilantro and lime any time, any day (I also love the duo in some Asian dishes as well). You have this option on these tacos.

I had 2 tacos on my way to Lakeland. One soft flour tortilla with beef (it's chipped steak not ground beef) and one chicken. I was very tempted to swing back in on my way home back into Bartow.

Another perk, the owner was super friendly and nice!

Austin and Ryan were with me. Austin (14) had 2 burritos and said they were, "Awesome". Ryan (6) had 2 beef tacos and gave it two thumbs up.

There you have it folks. 3 out of 3 Arnolds that has tried this place, loved it. :)
btw, you can become a friend on facebook. :)

Since some of you may have read about this, have you ventured forth for a taste? I was wondering what you all thought. :)
i was driving up 98 the other day. is it that truck that sits at the side of the road in the one spot? i have never noticed a name on it.
i don't know if my husband would even try it. he's a hot and spicey ortega taco man. but he will have taco bell once in a great while.

the ortega hot and spicey seasoning is sooo hard to find. i have to request visitors to bring it down with them.

I came back to this topic because I recently had the pleasure of grabbing some of these tacos.   Love them!  When ordering tacos you have a corn and flour tortilla option.   We like both but the flour is our favorite.

Courtney, sorry I didn't see your discussion.  The Taco truck is parked between Edgewood Drive and the Polk Parkway interchange.  It is a bit in front of a car dealership.  If you are heading north on 98 the truck is parked on your left.

I've always wondered about this place. Guess I have good reason to try it now! :)

I find myself a regular of these tacos and great conversation with the wonderful owner.   I swung in today and saw they are open and waiting for our business (after a small holiday closing).   While chatting there I was told the construction has put a damper on their sales.  I felt the need to pop this topic back up to round up some business for them because I can not let this business pack up - I love their tacos!

So, do me a favor (and them, too) and go grab as many tacos as you can as often as you can.  They're open for business and ready to hand you a yummy taco with a smile.
