Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.
This is my first summer off with my son, who turns 7 next month...other than the park, the free summer movies, and the 2 games for bowling...what cheap/free things are there to do during the summer here in Lakeland?

Hi, Jessica: Polk Museum of Art is a cool (70 degrees, 50% humidity!) place to visit during the summer ... and all year-round, actually! Kids/students always get in free, and (non-member) adults are just $5 (seniors $4). On Saturdays, everybody gets in free until noon, and on the first Saturday of every month, there's a Family Fun Workshop (also free) with an art activity that parents and children can do together. We are located just across the parking lot from the main library on Lake Morton, so you can visit both in a morning! :)
