Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.
Hi Everyone,
My family has just relocated to Polk County. I have two children under the age of four and I need to find a new Pediatrician. I was hoping some of you have some information on doctors in the Bartow/Lakeland area.
My children were in a large multi-doctor practice. I loved the availability and quick access to care. I could schedule appointments, pay my bill and obtain any records online. The doctors were all outstanding and my children had a great rapport with all the staff.
Any thoughts or information would be greatly appreciated!

We have had excellent luck with the pediatricians at Watson Clinic. They have north Lakeland and south Lakeland locations. We are particularly fond of the docs at the north Lakeland location!

Again, thanks!
You should also look into Lakeside Pediatrics. They are great!
I like Dr. Hutto at Watson Clinic on the south side

I wish I had posted this a few weeks ago. I have been stressing about this for a while.
I appreciate all of the help!
We also use Watson Clinic, North Peds. I love Dr. Frates. He is more than an hour away (because we moved) but I am not changing.
We love Dr. Velez at Watson Clinic North. She is very friendly, has a great rapport with kids, and is proactive in treatment. I've recommended her to a couple of other people and they became patients and like her as well.
I use watson clinic as well. I take my girls to North Pediatrics and we see dr. cornett, love his nurses and they are excellant at squeezing you in or getting documents that you need. I've also used some of the others listed when I had to take 1 in on a saturday.. hutto and velez were good, frates (?)..
Good luck!
I moved to this area about a year ago, and went through the same thing. I take my son to Davenport Pediatrics, because I met the doctors at the Celebration Hospital and both my husband I agree that they were the best choice. Dr. Sia and Dr. Khan are the best, they care about the children, take their time. I am a First Time mom,so I had so many fears, but they were there for me. I would go in with lists of questions and they would sit there and go over every question with me. They would rather you ask questions than not, and that is hard to find in the medical field when some will just pass you by so they can go to the next patient. Also , If I have any questions that don't require a visit, they are quick to call back. Appointments are quickly available also....

Both my little ones have slight issues, GI problems for my son and terrible eczema on my little girl.
Thanks for that heads up!

Mis-diagnosis twice - wound up in ER, and almost surgery, because of it once.
In my experience, they do not trust a "mom" instinct that illness is more than just a cold, etc.
Dismissive, IMO
