The immediate: Happy Summer, Y'all!

I hope you'll take this spot to get chatty with us on your day to day activities as summer goes on.  Have you done anything yet?

So far, no beach days for us.   Tropical Storm Andrea kind of put a dampening on that.  I've taken these days off to do some spring cleaning leftovers, it's nice to start something and not have to break away from it early afternoon to pick up kids and start homework.  This is uninterrupted get-it-done time.

As for the kids, I'm letting them watch way too much television and play way too much video games.  And I'm okay with that.  For awhile anyway. We won't make this an entire summer tradition.  Why I'm okay with it?  During the school year, after running around for after school activities, practices and homework, they would go entire weeks without turning on the t.v. or play a video game.

So, yeah, they're definitely on overload right now.

If you would like to bring the kids somewhere cool, dry & safe this week, visit Polk Museum of Art! It's FREE all week! Polk Museum of Art will offer free admission to everyone this week to honor Lois Cowles Harrison and her commitment to making the arts accessible. Ms. Harrison died Thursday. A lifelong advocate for the arts, she was instrumental in raising funds to construct the Museum’s building. And of course, she was the namesake of the Lois Cowles Harrison Center for the Visual and Performing Arts. The Museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Donations will be added to a memorial fund in Ms. Harrison’s name.

If you can't take advantage of this week, please note that we have free admission for everyone from 10am-noon every Saturday. And kids and students of all ages are ALWAYS admitted for free! :)

Thanks for giving these details.    :)

I've been working some so we haven't done much yet. A lot of video games and chilling, a little pool time. We spent most of last Friday on the ropes course and Zipline at Fantasy of Flight and had a great time!

I'm looking forward to a little break next week, my parents will take all the kids from Wed to Mon :D
We don't have any big plans this summer. I will be taking the kids to legoland water park a bunch.

We ended up with Sea World passes this year.  The last time we went was a few weeks out from school's end.  We will definitely gravitate there in-between us working on our house.   Doing house renovations is definitely taking a lot of our time this summer.   I hope it pays off, I want to move in before summer's end.

Thanks.. We may check that out tomorrow or Saturday.  appreciate the info!!!
