Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.

Today i volunterred at my child's school (Highways to Tomorrow) for their yearly Fall Festival which the school funds. My child had the best time attending this event and enjoyed myself as well. They had so much there for the children such as a moon walk, they had a booth where my child made lemonade, face painting, fishing and much more. I would really like to thank them for putting this event together they did an awesome job. i love my childs school and the staff is great.

I would just like to enjoy my HTT parents to jump in and get my involved our child love when we are there to share in their fun and accomplishments.

My 2 youngest children attended HTT. They were wonderful when it came to activities with the kids. I'm glad they are continuing to do so. It makes for great memories when you can participate with your children. :)

Yes i agree with you it does make for a happy memory. Seeing my child having fun and the teachers joining in and having a blast with their class is in my book a "Happy Day" for everyone. I hope that HTT will continue to fund this event for many more years to come. I would like to thank the Owner, Directors, and their wonderful staff for all they did to make this event big and FUN for the children. I love my child's school and wouldn't dream of placing them anywhere else. Thanks HTT for being so GREAT to my child.

My Son attends Early Child in Lakeland... and it was amazing too. They are owned by the same person. Ms. Linda the director is awesome and my baby has the best teacher (Mrs. Libsen). They truly care about there kids, and are wonderful people.
My child attends the one in Bartow and they have great activities in VPK. The teachers Krystal, Peggy and Julie are awesome with my child. They are willing to go above and beyond to make sure my child is learning and happy. I am very pleased with Highways to Tomorrow and the whole staff. My family and I have always been made to feel welcome upon entering any of the classrooms!! The Director Vansherri has been doing so great and makes sure that i am very happy and makes sure to take care of any concerns that i may have. Thank you to Highways to Tomorrow for being so good with my child. I feel good leaving knowing my child is safe.

O.k. so i have to brag gain about my wonderful child's school. They are planning a thanksgiving feast on Nov. 17th and have invited the family in to join. My child came home saying how excited he was to get to make something to share with his school family as he calls it. I'm so pleased as a parent with the recent activities at my childs school.

I'm glad they're doing so many fun activities - I would imagine they need to after all the negative attention they received last year after they lost that one kid.

Hmm....  Not a parent in March to having a child that comes home excited about his day in October...

Have any of u wondered why this parent so concerned about her story being told hasnt posted one single thing since the start of this story. I would like to hear more from her about this. Im not a parent but I work in childcare and parents dont just give up when they believe in something they follow it through til the end. I know that there are people who want to speak out but are scared of losing their jobs. Evenually the truth has to come out because all this negative stuff has to end for all parties involved.

Ahhhhh.....this thread makes so much more sense to me now!! Thanks for the reminder!!

These activities we're going on well before the childcare received the negative attention. My 10 year attended the school from the age of 3 and I remember doing the Thanksgiving event, the Fall festival, the Christmas program that was shared by the DOT workers, and graduation.

I know there are 3 sides to every story. His side, her side and the truth. I can only speak from my personal experience that I had with the daycare but they by far beat out the competition in town. Hopefully that parent and the owner got things worked out in the best interest of the child.

I really don't have to explain myself but just to clear the air your right i didnt birth a child i am a guardian for a child. i have gotten very close to this child because i recieved him in April. So you are right to make that comment. I was only posting because i was excited to finally be able to share in the joys of parenthood even if for a short time. I wasnt trying to talk about the negative i was trying to share the good. there are more than one side to a story and when i enrolled i asked alot of questions and they were very open with me and thats why i still enrolled they didnt hide anything and they told me all the things that they put in place to ensure this didnt ever happen again. so if it is a problem for me to post because i didnt truely birth a child and im only a guardian please tell me and this will be my last post. I am not on here to cause trouble. Thank you so much.

There's no problems posting as a guardian. Honestly, the back to back praise strikes me as an employee posting or relative or something along those lines. To be honest, it doesn't matter to me, I was in a snarky mood yesterday when I saw yet another post and responded, it was a juvenile response.

I do agree that there are always 3 sides to every story. What happened in the past was an extremely scary experience and hopefully a learning experience but hopefully is something that will never happen again. I have no first hand knowledge of that particular center and many do fun fall activities. As someone who spent years in childcare, my recommendation to anyone looking at ANY center has always been to pull DCF inspection reports (available online), visit unannounced and make your own decision.

You are correct, you don't have to explain yourself. I don't dispute that you have a child, be it by birth or otherwise. Just saying it doesn't give much credibility when the only topic you have ever posted on is HTT daycare. First, defending HTT (as a child care provider, not a parent)with a good deal of "insider" knowledge, then, posting only positive reviews of the center (as a parent/guardian). I'm not here to argue....just stating the obvious.
