Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.
It's a little hard to believe something we put so much effort and gear towards is all done.
For me, I always think I can't wait for it to come but then again, I don't like for it to end either. :)
I'm smiling right now thinking of our Christmas, it was really wonderful and special and I'm thrilled my kiddos were happy with what they received. I've seen them grow a lot this year adjusting from a two income family to one. Although they didn't get a lot, for what they had, they made it count. It makes my heart feel good.
I've decided to leave our decorations up for a little while longer to enjoy but was super surprised to see a Christmas tree curbside around 4 p.m. yesterday- Christmas Day. Now that's clearing out the Christmas fast! Lol, maybe they were over all the shedding evergreen needles.
Are any of you making any trip plans? How are you all doing in the, being-well-department?
We've been fighting a sickness. I was far behind on my Christmas gift baking because of it. It started with Lillian, then me, now Ryan has it. I still have a lingering cough and bit of weakness but over all, I can feel myself getting better- so yay!. I've been hearing of a lot of strep, a stomach bug, and positive identifications of a flu strain. Considering so many of us have been out shopping it makes sense that all this stuff is flying rampant.
I really want to get out to do some clearance shopping today. If you find some good deals, let us know.

Our Christmas was nice. Had my sister in town, which hasn't happened in a long time. She has three kids, and her youngest is my oldest's age. My parents were here too, and it's just us two siblings in the family, so it felt complete.
We leave tomorrow for CO to get the kids on the slopes. We try to go out west every year, but skipped a year, so we are really looking forward to it.
I am a little apprehensive because our 12 yr old dog seems to be fading fast, and I would hate for him to pass while we are gone. I am hoping he can hold out until we get back so we can be here for him in his last days. He barely eats and he sleeps all day. Doc says kidneys are failing, but if he can keep food down, he will be ok for a while. Poor guy must feel awful.
Gotta go pack for 3 people. This is the part I hate about traveling. Especially when we leave before sunrise! At least it is a 4 hr flight and I can try to sleep on the way!
Permalink Reply by Tabby on December 30, 2012 at 3:50pm It was quiet here. Just myself, hubby, Jesse and my mom. Made the calls to family out of state. Took the tree and decorations down Thursday night. Doing up lists for each room as to what needs to be done and bought for to help organize. Got all the ham leftovers frozen for future meals and needing to clean out and reorganize the pantries.
Was looking up flights and car rentals on Christmas for a trip to NY. Got my 25th High School reunion this up coming year. Get to stay with family so there's a good chunk saved. Talking to family and friends it's well over $100 a night up there. Yikes!!!
