Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.
I have a lot of experience but little success on this topic. When a gentleman does express an interest, where is the imaginary line drawn? What is just the right amount of appeal, what has worked for you and what does not?

Increasingly people tell me they've met their loves online with blooming relationships to show for it. In fact, a wonderful lady I recently talked to said her husband relocated several states over to form their alliance. It sounded completely beautiful. I wish them the best in their future together. :)
I've had very little dating experience (online or off) so I definitely wouldn't be the gal to give advice. :)
Sometimes its just the advice of one person which matters most, what works or not. Over the news event -internet failure reports there is obviously some wiggle room for success on the topic, especially when the intent is only to gain information and establish true friendship. I suppose what I ask next is "am I valuable to you?" You do not have much experence Shawn, yet you meet most of the obvious requirements.
When a guy goes out on a limb, all he ever expects or can hope for is her approval. Should he come right out and say "Im pushing that envelope," or just express and interest and then wait............Most men, well the smart ones are ADD and need help....lol.
Would you take the time for lunch? Dinner? Happy Hour? One day a week or three?
You could use your own definition, but I'd work 9 days a week for a lady :-)
okay time for me to pipe in about this topic. I met my husband online and couldn't be happier. We have now been married for 4 years and we hear of so many successful relationships that originated from the internet, that its not so "taboo" anymore. I would say persistence is what worked with us :) neither one of us thought it was possible because of the distance between us, but we really got to know eachother by chatting over the internet and on the phone before we even met (we were both very honest with eachother, which helped both of us). Honesty for me is always the way to go, as anything you try to embellish on will come out in the end. I would say expressing an interest is the first step and take it from there, and trust me, there will be duds out there, but hopefully you find that one that you can see it going further. My husband's advice would be, go for coffee first, see how it goes and then take it from there... Good luck, Mr. Mom, I am sure you will find that right person for you. :)
Thanks for the encouragement Joyce! Your kind words and the success story is certainly an inspiration :-)
