Advice given in the above article seems pretty sound; give full disclosure.   If you are recording, with sound, you must let the person know their voice is being recorded.

Pros to having a caregiver sign consent and acknowledgment of the surveillance:

1.) This could be a deterrent to not allow abuse to happen in the first place.  The nanny can be on their best behavior before abuse happens.  That's always a win-win.

2.) If legal action does transpire, your audio recordings would likely be admissible.
