We allow our kids to shoot BB guns but only with adult supervision at all times. They have no access to them unless my husband or I pull them out and they can only shoot at targets we set up with one of us standing right there. We also use it as a chance to teach basic firearm safety, and they are taught to treat the BB gun as any other thing that fires a projectile. Be mindful at all times of where the gun is pointing, keep your finger off the trigger until you have your target in your sights etc.
