Polk Moms

Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.

I'm relatively new to Lakeland and expecting my first child in March.  I'm hoping some moms (or dads) could recommend a daycare that accepts infants.  We live on the south side of Lakeland but I work on the north side.  Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Grace Lutheran Child Development Center (right in the middle of Lakeland High School, Florida Southern, and the Lakeland Library) located at 745 S. Ingraham Ave. in Lakeland (33801) takes infants from 6-weeks up to kindergarten. They have a wonderful program and are ASCI Gold Seal accredited. If you need more info or would like to stop by you are more than welcome to. Ms. Cathy Bozeman is the director and she can be reached at 863-682-6192 if you would like to speak with her.

PS. The rates are also really affordable and scholarships are available to those who need them.

I sent both of my kids to Noah's Ark at the United Methodist Temple on S. Florida Ave. across from Southgate Plaza. They are fabulous!  My daughter started at 10 weeks but they take them earlier than that.  Their number is 863-688-3114, Liz Laughlin is the director. My kids would still be going there if I weren't staying home now.

Hi,

We go to Early Childhood Learning Center which is on Pipkin near Geico. We love it! My daughter is now in their VPK program and started as an infant and my son attends as an infant.  They're great and treat the kids like their own.

Good luck!
Melissa

I concur with Melissa.

Early Childhood Learning Center on Pipkin behind the Geico is where my daughter has gone since she was 4 months old. She is now three. The phone number there is 863-647-3322

I absolutely love it there and would not trust any other daycare with my daughter.

Good luck!

My 4 year old goes to Hands N Hearts in Motion at Oasis Community Church in Lakeland off WinterLake Road.  I live in North Lakeland and it is well worth the drive.  He went to daycare there before he turned 4 now he goes to VPK and stays for the after care program.  I trust them completely and it is such a great a feeling to send your child to a place away from you, that he wants to go to!  He looks foward to school and loves his teachers.  I volunteer at the church on Sundays, in all the rooms, so I know how clean everything is.  and all the wonderful things they do for the kids.... It is an amazing place.  Call Lindy or Joy at Hands N Hearts in Motion for a tour.
