Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.
I am in need of uniforms for my little girl. She wears a 4T or 5T, but I'm not sure how that translates to Risse/Fontaine sizing.
If you know of someone with a graduating kindergartner who has these, please pass along my search!
They can either contact me here, or email me at jennifer at brucesabin dot com.
Thanks!

I bought a jumper from Risse for my little one and it seems pretty true to size. I am sure you know the repeat shop at Lincoln is open a few times this summer. I have had good luck finding what I need there in the past. I also have a little girl starting kindergarten and my son is going into 4th.

How many sets of uniforms do you plan to have for your kindergartner?

I don't like rushing around at the last minute to find clean uniforms in the morning. I mainly shop at the repeat shop so that I can have a full set for the week. For my son, I had one "monday" uniform, and four weekday uniforms. For the winter, I bought the pants for the whole week and four long sleeve shirts for Tues-Fri.
When I just had one child, it wasn't so bad, but this year it's going to hurt! I've bought a few new items from Risse and a few from the repeat shop and I'm over $100 already. I'm not even half way done either.
The used pants always have worn spots on the knees and they always put my boy up front in the class picture, so I've been buying mostly new pants.
Sometimes kids don't have as much of a growth spurt some years, so you can buy uniforms a little bigger, and use them for almost two years. I love when that happens!
Permalink Reply by Jennifer Sabin on July 17, 2012 at 12:49pm I was thinking 5 sets too. I dislike doing laundry as it is! Someone else suggested buying things a little big so they can be worn longer and I think that's good advice.

We have several skirts and skorts in the same plaid as Lincoln Academy, purchased from Risse. They range between 10-12 to 14-16. Those might be larger than what you need at the moment, but you could always stock up in the larger sizes to prepare for those unexpected growth spurts.
Feel free to pass the info along. I know uniforms are very expensive. These are in very good shape.
Thought of you when I saw this headline. How did you do at the repeat shop? Apparently people were lined up early yesterday.
I got there within 10 minutes of them opening, and I did OK, but everything was going fast. Still need a few items! I bought some wrong sizes too! I was in too much of a rush to make sure the sticker matched the inside label! I was going to bring stuff back and try and exchange on Thursday but I was told that there was very little left!
Permalink Reply by Jennifer Sabin on August 15, 2012 at 8:20am I did not go to the Repeat Shop. I met a mom through a mutual friend on FB and she sold me several slightly used uniform pieces. It was a great deal and I am so grateful for her generosity (3 polos, 2 jumpers, 4 shorts, & 1 zippered hoody for $20!) I only needed a few more things after that and just bought them from Risse during tax-free weekend.
Reading this, I am glad I didn't wait for the Repeat Shop!
