What ever happened to Thompson? He was arrested but did he ever go to court?

The big question is, what has happen to the teaching profession? Two teaching professonals arrested in the last week, a coach at Tenoroc earlier this year, Coach Thompson last December. I believe there was a recent incident at Lake Region. Its hard to keep up, and that's just in our little pond. But nary a word from those in the profession with a response, or a recommendation to safeguard our children.

Just like the statements from victims rights groups and law enforcement over the years. For every known case of rape, there may be up to ten rapes that are never reported.

What is the real count of improper relations of teachers with their students? Or teaching professionals and illegal acts?

There is a problem. But those that could change the environment, ignore the issue.

So we continue to read, and marvel, that such acts by those that we entrust our children with. Continues, without abatement.

Okay, I had to research who you're referencing, Matt Thompson is a fairly common name. Are you referring to the Matt Thompson that once taught at George Jenkins?

If so, to catch others up on this individual, here's an article from December 2011- Matt Thompson one of 3 men held this week in cases involving teens

Thompson's arrest involves a 17-year-old female student at George Jenkins High School, Judd said. Thompson invited the girl to his home on several occasions and twice engaged in sex with her, Judd said.

Judd described Thompson as a person of "authority and power" over students.

Shawn. Yes that Matt. That was in 2011 and nothing more on a conviction court date or nothing. Guilty or not guilty? Still in jail or left town?

if you go onto the Clerk of Courts website, the case is still open and ongoing and shows the next court date in November. For some reason, these cases take a long time to get to trial. our son's principal was involved in something similar and it was about a year and a half before it went to trial.
