Misuse of Polk Moms
Hi there, I just signed up recently since I just moved to Polk county. How can I stop or block people from making comments to my profile in an indecent manner? I have had numerous people asking me for a relationhsip on here. Is that normal for this site?
Please advise.

I really appreciate your membership and want to assure you, being solicited for a relationship is not at all common on this site. I am only aware of it happening a total of 3 times since this sites induction.
PolkMoms is set to allow members to automatically join so that a member may automatically enjoy the benefits of membership and information sharing. If I find that a person is soliciting in any type of manner, I remove that member from our site.
The person that commented on several profiles today has been removed.
Of course I welcome notifications of unwanted information that can happen on our site. I am only an email away. If anyone finds something suspicious on site before I have had the chance to remove it, please contact me.
In my heart I truly feel you will gain mountains more insight and useful information at PolkMoms.com than find spam issues.

I have been getting the same offers as well. I get a notice in my regular email saying someone wrote to me, but when I check out on here there's nothing. I end up deleting the messages. I've had several so to me it's not to big of a deal. Unlike when I post on craig's list...I get slammed with spam and other offers.

Michelle, thank you for letting me know of the email notification you received. This is the same note referenced above. I removed your reply off this thread because you did add the actual spam note on site.
This person that sent the note has already been removed as a member of PolkMoms.

I'd just like to say that, although I am male, I am not one of the ones conducting myself in such a manner.
So Megan, please let everyone know that I'm not one of the villains.
Talking to women only gets you trouble - that's how I got married.....(ha !!:)
It just seems so odd that someone would come here with the intent of picking up ladies. All (or most) of you are married with kids and junk like that.
What are these men THINKING !!!!!!!!?????

You said you know of it only happening three times? I've had it happen to me twice and I've only been a member for a few weeks or so. It's a common problem, not just here, but on Facebook and other social networking sites. It's a spam problem. It isn't someone actually trying to hookup with you.

Leesa, that last two times were very recently. The first instance of this type of spam occurred when a member signed up with the screen name 'happines'. Those 3 instances were spam,and I agree, not a valid attempt to try to pick someone up.
To 18watt, I'm pretty sure the spam notes were projected as faux women seeking men on PolkMoms, not the other way around.
There have been other spam issues that have presented on site. As soon as those appear, and I'm aware, I diligently remove them.
