I am new here and have a 16 month old son. For now, I am staying home with him and would like to get him into some kind of a play group. He loves other kids and I know he needs the interaction. Anyone know of one in the Winter Haven/Lake Wales/Haines City area?

I called around a little bit this morning. I cannot find anything that is for those that are under 2 .. Gymboree is always an option but I don't see why it cant be "easier" than that. I stay at home with him and know he would love and needs the interaction.

Yea...Gymboree looks a little "small" for my son, I'm not sure about yours. My son is almost two but is as tall as a three yr old so gymboree isn't for him. Well, if you'd like to get together sometime we'd love to. I work 10:30-2:30 mon-fri so anytime after 3pm is good for us. I live in Bartow. What about you?

Hey ladies - this has been brought up before (I think if you search Playgroups) you might find other discussions with suggestions. I took my daughter to backyard adventures for her birthday, she had a blast - I'm sure she'd have more fun if it wasn't just daddy bouncing with her (they have a toddler play area, but with her she wasn't happy with that she wanted to play with the big boys - LOL - I know I'm going to be biting my tongue when she gets older). they are pretty reasonable and do offer a mommy & me playgroup on Wednesdays from 9-12 (i think) you can check their website out - located on the corner of Bartow road and Edgewood.

I live in Winter Haven/Haines City area but am always over that way. I am going to Gymboree next tuesday to "check it out". Do you live in South Lakeland?
