Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.
I have given in to the newest holiday craze, and I am baking a pumpkin cheesecake. My cream cheese is sitting on the counter and getting closer and closer to room temperature. In the meantime, I thought I'd pose a question.
What are you thankful for this year?
Here is my list:
My boyfriend and daughter. Both of them are smart and creative and keep me on my toes. Also, they do housework.
School, or at least the fact that I am one semester away from graduation. (In my undergrad studies anyways).
Friends and family. They should probably be listed above school, but this isn't really in order of importance. It is fortunate that I have them.
My bosses at the college. I really should get them mugs. They make work fun and listen to our ideas.
My car. It might have bumps, bruises, and a penchant for stalling at inopportune times, but it moves me.

We often forget how good we have it! Alsan, you reminded me I am also thankful for good health. It was a good year for us...no major illnesses.
Permalink Reply by Shawn Spivey on November 26, 2012 at 9:45am I'm thankful my divorce is over, I don't feel owned anymore. Happily the only people that can lay claim to me are my children. :)
The roof thing stresses me out a bit. I'm only in my marital home temporarily and my time limit will be up in March. So, yes, I'm happy to have a roof over my head currently but worry about finding the right place for us to go, and the expense of it all, once we do. Going through this really makes me appreciate the basics that so many take for granted so much more.
Shawn I agree with the divorce thing! So glad its over, but isn't really because its still an area of stress when you have kids. So I'm thankful for my girls and my boyfriend, to have the simple things and be able to see the bright side of things again, to be extremely happy and know that things are going the way we want them to since we have new goals to attain! :)
