Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.
I'm not doing this to pick on anyone. I just don't understand if people think they look good, they plainly don't care or they just don't own any mirrors. I really don't know how else to put it, but I think some of the mom's that show up to school should have a dress code. The past week has been really rough. Some either they look like a homeless person from the streets or dressing in clothes to small or they look like ladies that work the streets.
I know everyone has a style they like and may look good in, but I would not dare walk out looking like that. One mom had on a tee shirt with a bunch of holes in it. One wrong move and you would see everything (no there was no bra either). Sleep pants were cut off and everything was beyond stained and she had on slippers. She must have just rolled out of bed. I got my tees with holes and stain, but they stay inside and not to be worn outside. Another mom looked like she dressed from her smaller daughter's closet. The shorts were cut low and tight which gave her what most call a muffin top. Last week another mom showed up with her hubby. She had on jeans which looked painted on, tank top which was so tight and a few sizes to small and some 6 inch heels. Granted she looked good in it. Then today this dad walks past the car in front of me at car rider line and almost fell trying to look hard into the car. After she got out I understood why. She couold not have been but 100 lbs, with a skirt that looked like it belonged to her little girl, and boobs popping out of the bra and tank top (pretty big boob job). After she put her make up on in the car she really topped off the look.
I don't want to say that all mom's should dress like an old maid, but I just don't see how they can show up and not be embarrassed walking out in pubic. I was always brought up to dress nice, but to make sure you dress nice. It's good that woman embrace their bodies and the different sizes we all are, but sometimes.....I don't know what they are thinking. I do NOT mean to offend anyone and if I do I'm sorry for that.

Permalink Reply by Macaela on June 4, 2012 at 9:16pm I can so relate...went to my kindergartener's award ceremony this morning and a mom walked over to the table where and his class were sitting to hug her child. Mom's shirt was so low cut that when she bent over her breasts practically fell out onto the table. I watched my six year old struggle to bite his tongue, and he kept giving me "the look" (I was next to their table). Two years ago he would have shouted out, "Hey Mommy...that lady needs to cover up her boobies!!"
I acknowledge your right to dress like a hooker, but please be respectful and avoid flashing my child.

Permalink Reply by courtney on June 5, 2012 at 11:59am Just another sign of the breakdown of our culture. What once was not acceptable, is now acceptable. Mother's trying to relive their teen years by dressing seedly in the wrong circumstances, and other's with so little respect for themself that they dress shabbly.
Standards, what standards.
Respect, what's that.
I agree, show some respect for your kid and the occasion.
