SAHM ready to go back to work, needs advice

For the past five years I have been very blessed in being able to be a SAHM to my two kids, but due to money and it just being "time," I am ready to go back to work. Any former stay-at-homers have any advice or tips? I have been putting in applications for two months now, and I know this is a bad economy, and that it may take time, but any advice would be very appreciated.
