A study suggests finger foods could lead to a healthier body weight later in children. Read this correlation and tell me if you think it fits the patterned suggestions in your household.
For me, my daughter struggles with her weight the most and she finger food lead faster than any of my other children. Even though this train of thought doesn't mirror my experience it may have some valid parallels. Do you think so?

My daughter finger fed pretty early. Her first tooth was in around 6 months or so, even though she was preemie. We were eating at a mexican restaurant once when she was under a year old and she dove in for the chips and salsa! The staff was a little nervous about her eating it (and so was I!) but my husband said to wait and see if she was successful....and she was!
That's not exactly the finger food they are talking about here, but I just thought I would bring it up. I did have some concerns about her "belly" fat at her 5 yr old check up (she has quite the sweet tooth), and the doctor agreed that it would be OK to go down to 1% milk. She seems to be thinning out since then...and she is getting pickier.
Thank goodness she has always had an appetite for fresh raw veggies like I do! We probably eat salad (plain mixed greens with tomatoes and carrots and light Italian vinegarette or fresh lemon juice) with dinner 4 nights a week!
