Unemployed Find Old Jobs Now Require More Skills

I guess this helps explain why I've read of companies complain that they're hiring, but can't find qualified applicants, yet so many people are still out of work. They're now looking for people who do what several people did before.

This totally hits home with me. I've been unemployed since October of last year. It is quite disheartening to be unemployed right now. Someone told me that office openings are receiving up to 300 applicants for a single job. Some people have better odds at getting into Harvard than finding a job here!!!
