Polk Moms

Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.

Just checked my email and got the new release of Black Friday Ads and Walmart was there.  I was at the store earlier and service desk said they are not price matching this year, but they are WRONG.  The Black Friday ad has on there they will match those ad prices for the day.  Just make sure of not just the day but the times the stores start their sales. \

Walmart is starting their Black Friday sales Thursday night at 8pm, but they are starting it online that day as well.  Going to sit home on the computer to shop.  No way am I taking out our new car and having it dented or scratched.  Last year my mom took her car out and someone out at Bealls or Target ( I forgot which one it was) someone clipped her car down the passenger side.  Got a moderate dent and scraped it the whole way down.  Her car is older so she didn't bother trying to get it fixed.  Plus after about being trampled last year at Walmart, I'll pass.

I'll miss going out as it has been tradition for years with my mom and myself.  I may venture to Walgreen that Thursday as they are open, but that's about it.  Tonight I'll be making a list of who's got what on Black Friday and their prices.  I know some things at Best Buy are a bit cheaper, but last year they took your money, held it on the side and over sold items.  Later on you would find out that either they cancelled your order or simply waited for the supplier to get in more for them.  I think for $5-$10 more at Walmart, I would order it online and not have to worry.

Can we order this online?

Walmart paper did say they are starting their Black Friday sale Thursday 11/22 online and the store starts at 8pm Thursday 11/22.  Last year I did most of my shopping online Thanksgiving Day as the Black Friday ads starts that day for most stores (they just don't go public with it).  I would start checking the internet at midnight Wed night/Thurs morning or whenever you get up Thursday.

Just remember that with Best Buy online they do not tell you they have a limited quantity so they will put a hold on your money in the bank.  If your bank is like Chase they only hold the money for 3-5 days and release it back to your account, but just remember that does not cancel the order you placed online.  Once Best Buy has the item in, the money will be taken out of your account so still keep it on the side in your account.  A few years ago I found out the hard way and had my account overdrawn.

Thanks Tabby!  Great tips to follow. :)
