Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.
Of course we want health and happiness and over all basking in the bliss of reflection of what it is to be a mom but a token of appreciation can be appreciated, too.
What types of gifts do you feel are appropriate and ideal for receiving for Mother's Day? Do you have a favorite past gift?
If there is something you're eying or hoping for, do you put out hints for what you want?
I had a mental gasp and chuckle at some of the gifts in the article, Bad Mother's Day Gifts. Listed was legit, they're pretty bad. Have you received a gift that would fit right in on that bad list?

I mentioned this to him the other day and he said, if you get a mothers weekend, I get a fathers week, I just stared blankly at him and he finally looked at me and said your right, I have had a father's day life, I guess you deserve a weekend!! LOL
Permalink Reply by Tabby on May 10, 2012 at 5:13pm Since I had my Birthday, Anniversary and now Mother's Day in a matter of a few weeks it is rough. That's why I did a tattoo. Although on Bug Harry Deals you can get a $70 hair care package for $29 at the Enzo's Family Salon. Would be nice to get some highlights. Wanted blue and pink, but starting to get a bit on the pricey side.
Really I don't want or need anything. Don't go out much, no real friends to hang out with, not into electronic stuff, so really not much out there. I'm like the easiest lunch date on Friday's with hubby. After the gun range we hit Wendy's and it's less than $10 for the 2 of us to eat.
Since he's working Sunday, he's thinking about taking me out (along with our son) for dinner Saturday. He's going to Mulberry for a tattoo and should be done about 3pm. Maybe we'll go to Picasso. I know they got a Mother's Day Special Sunday, but hubby can't go. They are doing free sitting fee for mom's and free tea.
I sure would love a cafe mocha vodka valium latte grande with whipped cream on top! Oh, and recovery time. Preferably on a beach, any beach~!
A gift card to Joannes so I can buy supplies for my quilting!
Permalink Reply by Tabby on May 12, 2012 at 6:55pm Did my Mother's Day thing today since hubby has to work tomorrow. After his tattoo we (hubby, son and myself) went to Carrabba's Grill for a late lunch/early dinner. Had a $25 gift card from a raffle we won and we've never been there before. Wasn't bad. After that we went to Best Buy and I got a movie I had wanted.
Had 2 great weekends in a row with my 2 favorite guys!! Last week Saturday was my tattoo, early dinner, movie, and Cold Stone Creamery. I just love spending time with them.
I always enjoy a cleaned house (one that I didnt clean) and a day away from my kids lol. like a day to just go shopping is nice. or a homemade card from the kids and my favorite flowers.
Permalink Reply by Tabby on May 14, 2012 at 6:40pm Actually I did clean a bit yesterday. A lady a few houses down from us put a wire shoe stand shelf out for free. Even though I really don't need to bring more stuff in, I'm glad I did get it. I put it between the desk and TV stand. I filled it with games and DVD's and put my scanner on top. I also cleaned off the desk and found my Zune (like an i pod) that I misplaced a couple months ago. Tomorrow I'll get a few more things cleaned up in the kitchen around and on the kitchen table.
Haha. Anti-ageing creams and anything to do with housework is pretty bad. It's the one day we get to feel like little princesses in a way, want to be spoiled. Thoughtful gifts are always nice, but aside from ones that take a lot of effort, I like massages and manicures -- really relaxing days. In terms of physical gifts, this list is pretty good. I was looking at it for my sister and mum. I was in Singapore during Mother's Day this year, watching the kids, so I shopped from home. They have some amazing fashion online sites that deliver free like this one, and they had special selections for Mums so it definitely shaved some time off shopping. Well I did end up shopping for me too... hehe. What better than a shoe shop for a mum!
