Polk Moms

Connecting moms in Polk County, Fla.

With Summer right around the corner and temps heating up fast, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of a cheap place to take the kids swimming over the summer.  I don't need swim classes or anything organized, just a place to recerationally swim.

Thanks for your help!

The Rowdy Gaines Pool in Winter Haven is great. $2 for Winter Haven residents and I think $3 for non-residents!
There is a place in Haines City that is open to the public. I have not been but ppl that I know have and say the kids love it. I believe it's through the Parks & Recreation Dept. You can look on the website www.ci.haines-city.fl.us for prices and times. Hope this helps.
Thanks! I'll check out Bartow!

Haines City has a great new pool/water park but I teach near there and everytime I've been I get bombarded with old and current students (and parents). I love them all to death but when I'm in "mommy mode" I just want to hang out with my own kids and not be "working" ;)

Kelly Recreational , in Lakeland.  It is 3$ a day for people who live within the city limits.
