This is one of the happiest follow-up blogs I’ve ever written. I posted a week or so ago about being diagnosed with Meniere’s disease. It is an inner ear disturbance, affecting one ear. It is of…Continue

How I Found My Cure for Meniere's Disease

This is one of the happiest follow-up blogs I’ve ever written. I posted a week or so ago about being diagnosed with Meniere’s disease. It is an inner ear disturbance, affecting one ear. It is of unknown origin, with no cure. I have a mild form, (only roaring in my ear, partial hearing loss and mild vertigo,) but it can cause severe vertigo, vomiting, and complete hearing loss. I was diagnosed and told by my ENT that my only option was a diuretic to reduce the fluid in my ear, but there was…See More

Concerned about Your Baby's Position?

I’m sure there are a million thoughts running through your head right now, hopefully this will address some of them. This discussion will be geared towards a singleton pregnancy, but the ideas can be applied to a multiples pregnancy as well. There are a few notes about multiple positioning towards the middle of the article.Let's talk first about what happens in the normal pregnancy. Somewhere in the middle of the third trimester baby should be in a head down position. A baby in a head down,…See More

Very cool!  I never had a c-section, but I can't imagine having to take care of a newborn having just had abdominal surgery.  Yipes!!

In some cases it may depend on the kid.  In my experience with my kids one hears 'great job' and thinks 'I'm done!'  The other kid hears the praise and works toward the reward again and again.

I think my son had pica for a while. He loved to chew on everything and ate holes in book and in chewed through the wood in his crib. At about 10 mos old, he saw another child pick up a crumb on a carpet and eat it...then he started doing the same,…

I'm in agreement. I grew up on a farm and dirt was just the norm. That being said, my daughter (6) and middle son (3) never lets me wash a clean shirt....even the baby (he's 8 months) is in on it! I say - PLAY!!!

I'm a big believer in letting them get dirty. LOL, I'm usually the only nut at football practice who's kids are splashing in the mud puddles with me saying "it's nothing the bath won't take out"  I've…

I can now backup my own judgement, that little ones playing in dirt are actually benificial for growth.  Both physical and mental.  Getting dirty, with a little dirt in the mouth is a good thing for children.  My slightly over a…

wow that is interesting!   What did we always hear growing up "a little bit of dirt don't hurt" and through this particular author that adage seems true.  I agree with the whole let kids get dirty (just don't bring…

Dirt: It's Good for Kids!

I don’t know how to say this without sounding crazy, so I’m just going to be blunt. When I was a child, I liked to eat pebbles and stones. Well, technically I didn’t eat them, just sucked on them. Yes, I was a closet rock sucker. Away from the judging eyes of friends and family, I secretly relished their earthy, mineral flavor. I’m sure, like any mother, my own mom would have been considerably horrified at the idea of her small child sucking on dirty rocks from God knows where. And, while my…See More

I am good, and so are the kids, for the most part! I was wondering if you still did kids days on tuesdays? Damian hasnt had an adjustment since the last time you gave him one! Hes still not walking...and no answers. He acts like it hurts. And I was thinking maybe a couple adjustments would help.
