Registration Opens for Summer Art Camp at the Polk Museum of Art

Parents can keep their children busy painting, drawing and learning other artistic skills this summer with the Polk Museum of Art’s Summer Art Camp and Winter Haven Art Camp.

In honor of the museum’s 50th anniversary, students ages 7-13 will go on an adventure through the evolution of the Polk Museum of Art’s collection. Students will gain inspiration from famous artists highlighted in the museum’s collection, including Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Andy Warhol, as well as the museum’s new mural by Ruben Ubiera.

The Summer Art Camp schedule at the is as follows:

Session #1: June 13 - 24 Registration Deadline: June 5

Session #2: June 27 - July 8 Registration Deadline: June 19

Session #3: July 11 - 22 Registration Deadline: July 3

Session #4: July 25 – Aug. 5 Registration Deadline: July 17

Students may choose up to three classes per day. Classes include crafts, skateboard deck design, digital photography and more. Tuition is $100 per class for members; $120 per class for nonmembers. Before and after camp care also are available for an additional fee.

Winter Haven Art Camp

This art camp is held at the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes Complex, 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd., July 11-22, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Classes include drawing, painting, creative writing and mixed art. Tuition is $200 for museum members; $260 for nonmembers.
